The bench saw is a very handy tool for any workman and a must in all workshops. This tool is basically used to rip or cut long planks of plywood into desirable shapes and sizes that can be used. There are three main parts to any bench saw. It consists of the blades, blade guards and the motor. It is typically mounted on a table or bench so it has no stand as such.
The blades that are used in this tool are available in many different variations to obtain different cuts. The blades are circular or round and can be purchased in many different sizes depending on the needs of the tradesman. You can also get the band saw blades that are basically a band of metal blades with cutting teeth only on one edge. These can be bought in different width measurements. The jigsaw blades are also available. They are short and straight attached to mounting pins. All the blades have various configurations and different tooth sizes. Depending on the type of cut you can choose the tooth size - rough cuts need large tooth configurations and finer cuts need smaller teeth.
Saw Band
The guards on the blades are important because they are a safety feature. They help prevent inadvertent bodily contact with the blades which could result in bad accidents. The saw is powered by an electric motor that can be purchased in different sizes and have various capacities. The connection of the motor with the saw is done via a belt attachment assembly. The motors are usually small, similar to other freestanding tools.
